Hood River Transit Master Plan
CAT’s existing system includes fixed-route bus service to Portland (two days per week, one round trip each), fixed-route bus service to The Dalles (five days per week, three round trips each), and general public Dial-A-Ride service in Hood River County. Other providers in the region (e.g., Mt. Adamas Transportation Service, Mt. Hood Express) provide other fixed-route and/or demand-response service throughout the greater Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood regions.
Within the City of Hood River, CAT’s Hood River – The Dalles fixed-route and MATS’s Hood River –White Salmon/Bingen fixed-route provide limited local service to major destinations including downtown, Rosauer’s, Columbia Gorge Community College, and Walmart. CAT also provides general public Dial-a-Ride service within this area. Many of the existing Dial-A-Ride pickups (shown on the below map) are nearby existing fixed-route service, and so may be well served by fixed-route service in the future.
CAT worked with the consultant team to undertake an Existing Conditions analysis and extensive stakeholder and general public outreach.
How can you help?
Your opinions are critical to shaping this plan. We want you to provide feedback on CAT’s draft proposals that could be implemented in the next 1 to 5 years. We also want your input on longer-term scenarios (> 5 years) where we anticipate more funding will be available to provide even more service and expanded coverage.
All responses to this short survey will be kept confidential. Thank you for your participation!
