Improving travel options in Hood River and the Gorge

Help us plan for a better transit system!

The Hood River County Transportation District is preparing a transit master plan to enhance the area’s public bus service in the short term and over the next 20 years. We want to know your thoughts on existing bus routes, ideas for new routes and other ways public transit can benefit your community.

The final plan depends on answers to key community questions:

  • Where are the major attractions in Hood River County?
  • Which locations are difficult to reach without a car?
  • Who needs to access bus service?
  • What are the most common trip purposes when people take the bus?
  • How should we prioritize limited funding?
  • What services, programs or benefits will help encourage the use of public transit?

Once completed, the plan will document the existing bus system, identify priorities for bus service enhancements and include strategies for funding.

Get updates to stay involved

Leave us your email address to receive updates on the planning process. We’ll invite you to public events and ask for your feedback as the plan develops.

Talk with us

We will be out in the community in October and will host an open house in late fall 2016. In addition, the planning team will meet with a group of involved community members to collect detailed input on planning documents throughout the planning process. Anyone is welcome to attend these meetings and submit public comments.
